We conducted the second interview in our “Jobs at STAHL” series with Ramona Blumör, who has been working in field service for STAHL since April 2023. Every day, she looks after and advises STAHL customers with great dedication and enthusiasm. She told us in an interview that she is absolutely convinced by the products and enthusiastically tackles all issues related to hygiene.
What is your main task at STAHL?
Every day, I make sure that our customers get exactly the equipment they need. I advise and support companies that want to equip their laundry with our machines and, of course, I also take care of our existing customers. It is important to me to stay in touch with customers even after the purchase – we are always available to help, our service does not end with the delivery of the equipment.
How did you end up at STAHL?
I started my professional career with an apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory assistant. After that, I worked for a detergent and surface cleaner manufacturer for many years, first in the laboratory and later in sales. During this time, I got to know the STAHL company at various trade fairs and was impressed by the devices and the values behind the company. When I realized that my job no longer suited me, the opportunity arose to start at STAHL. I didn’t have to think about it for long!
What do you particularly enjoy about your work at STAHL?
I love the contact with our customers. I also enjoy finding the perfect solution for complex requirements. I also get help from my colleagues – sometimes they are technicians, but often the managing directors also know how to advise based on their extensive experience. This collaboration, finding the product together with the customer that will make them happy, is something that also makes me very satisfied.
Is there a topic that you are particularly interested in?
Yes, I am absolutely passionate about hygiene! In the course of my career, I have completed a basic course in laundry technology, among other things, I have become a specialist in cleaning and hygiene management and I am a hygiene officer for laundries. Before I started at STAHL, I completed my training as a disinfection specialist – I had been keen to do that for a long time. With this qualification, I am allowed to carry out hygiene inspections in laundries, among other things. The topic of hygiene is my absolute passion and has been inspiring me for decades. I can incorporate my knowledge when advising my customers, and this is also very well received.
What do you think accounts for the success at STAHL?
The technicians at STAHL do a damn good job, and our customers appreciate that. If there is a problem, the technicians are there immediately and find a solution. Of course, the solid construction of the machines and their durability are also major advantages that I don’t see from any other manufacturer. What has impressed me personally from day one is that at STAHL, the whole family pitches in and pulls together. For example, when an event is coming up, one of the bosses will pick up the vacuum cleaner, it’s all part of the job. Customers also feel this sense of unity and commitment, it’s truly unique.
What is your favorite STAHL product?
I love all STAHL machines… My dream would be to have the devices in a “miniature format” for domestic use, in the usual sizes for households. Then I would be the first to put a STAHL washing machine, dryer and ironer in the basement!
