Hygiene is key to the successful treatment of patients in hospitals worldwide. In 2015, we received an inquiry from the Doctors for Ethiopia Association, Inc.: Yirgalem General Hospital treats approximately 65,000 patients per year. Until now, all laundry was washed by hand by two employees in the small laundry room under difficult and hygienically questionable conditions. To improve hygiene conditions, the association was deeply committed to purchasing industrial washing machines for the laundry facility.
We are pleased that by providing two ATOLL 450 units and one T246 dryer, we were able to significantly improve hygiene standards at the clinic.
The staff is often thrilled when we deliver and set up our machines, but in this case, the before-and-after comparison is truly impressive. At first glance, it’s clear just how much of an improvement our machines represent for the hospital and the staff who work there.
Thanks in part to its professional laundry equipment, Yirgalem General Hospital has now risen to second place in the nationwide hygiene rankings. We are proud that our machines are making a significant contribution to curbing infectious diseases.
