The training centers of the International Fire & Rescue Training, LLC In Külsheim and Riedlingen, they offer training and continuing education for firefighters. There, participants learn how to prepare for real-life emergencies and can deepen their existing knowledge.
In the past, the protective clothing used at the training centers was sent to outside laundries for cleaning. However, this took a relatively long time, and the protective clothing was subjected to a great deal of wear and tear during the cleaning process. Since local laundries are usually not specialized in cleaning protective clothing, this can easily lead to damaged reflectors, incorrect waterproofing treatments, or poor cleaning results.
For these reasons, the managers of the training centers decided to set up their own laundry facilities—using STAHL’s robust and durable laundry machines. Each of the two locations has one washing machine ATOLL 350 and a clothes dryer T 246. Thanks to innovative features and powerful washing mechanisms, protective clothing is gently yet thoroughly cleaned in STAHL’s professional machines and is ready for use again within a few hours. External service providers sometimes need several weeks to clean it.
STAHL’s laundry machines not only thoroughly clean protective clothing, but the machines are also available for training purposes. To protect their health, emergency responders should know how to properly care for and clean protective clothing. During operations, emergency responders are exposed to harmful substances. If protective clothing is not cleaned promptly and properly, the risk of developing cancer increases. With an in-house laundry facility equipped with STAHL laundry machines, fire departments can provide their personnel with the best possible protection.
