As a regional center of excellence for mental health, the GpZ (Community Psychiatric Center) in Überlingen supports people with mental health challenges in leading independent and self-directed lives. Among other things, people with mental illness are given the opportunity here to participate in the workforce within a supportive environment. The social service organization’s areas of operation include, among other things, an in-house laundry facility.
At the GpZ Überlingen, the laundry facility operates five days a week, serving a wide variety of clients: nursing homes, rehabilitation clinics, hotels, vacation homes, and fire departments in the region all have their linens professionally cleaned here. Upon request, the laundry facility also offers a full-service package that includes pickup and delivery of the laundry. Due to the wide variety of laundry items and the high hygiene standards required by many industries, the laundry is equipped with a diverse range of machines from STAHL. When the company decided to partner with STAHL in 2010, the mangle was the deciding factor, recalls GpZ Managing Director Ingo Kanngießer: „We were looking for a high-quality mangle from a supplier located not too far from our site. With STAHL, everything fell into place.“ At the time, it was important to the facility that a service technician could be on site quickly in an emergency to keep downtime to a minimum.
In addition to the equipment’s durability and low maintenance requirements, Ingo Kanngießer is also impressed by the people behind STAHL. „It’s a real privilege to work with such friendly people. We even took a company outing to STAHL once and were able to get a behind-the-scenes look at production. The family-like atmosphere and the sense of camaraderie are values we greatly appreciate.“
