A-ROSA is known as one of Europe’s leading providers of river cruises. In total, A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH employs more than 750 people from 25 different countries. It all began in 2002 with two ships serving classic routes on the Danube. Today, the river cruise fleet consists of 13 modern ships that sail throughout Europe. The ships meet the latest safety and environmental standards and have one thing in common. Whether it’s the A-ROSA Bella, A-ROSA Luna, or A-ROSA Stella—twelve ships in the fleet are currently equipped with STAHL laundry machines.
Running a laundry on a ship is a very special challenge. This is because the machines—whether washing machines, dryers, or trough mangles—must not get „seasick“ despite the ship’s motion, but must function reliably at all times. The basic requirement, therefore, is that the machines be particularly robust and operate reliably. After all, the laundry facilities on A-ROSA ships handle everything that would typically be washed in a standard hotel laundry: table linens and bed linens, guest linens, staff uniforms, cleaning supplies, and terry cloth items.
It’s not just because of the absolute reliability of STAHL laundry machines that they are ideally suited for use at A-ROSA. Their ease of maintenance and the minimal number of wear parts also make STAHL machines the perfect companions at sea.
There are now 20 washing machines, 12 dryers, and six trough mangles in use on the various ships. A-ROSA opted for STAHL’s return-feed mangles because they provide the perfect finish while taking up minimal space, making them ideal even in tight quarters.
