STAHL multi-roller trough calenders with two or three rollers for a high-performance finish on your flat linens are available with roller diameters ranging from 50 to 121 cm and working widths from 175 to 350 cm.
STAHL multi-roller trough calenders with two or three rollers for a high-performance finish on your flat linens are available with roller diameters ranging from 50 to 121 cm and working widths from 175 to 350 cm.
Self-tensioning calender belt technology that leaves no belt marks and ensures perfectly synchronized roller operation.
180° wrap angle per trough and up to 20 % longer plating path for first-class finish quality.
The rollers lower into the troughs rather than the other way around, for minimal energy consumption.
Continuously variable gearmotors without chains or V-belts for minimal maintenance.
Double-walled, fully insulated covers reduce heat loss and create a comfortable working environment.
A long ironing stroke and the ideal amount of pressure ensure an elegant sheen on the ironed laundry.
Non-slip feed belts prevent slipping and noticeably increase laundry throughput.
Optional microprocessor-based control system with a large display, serving as the central unit for entire defect detection lines.
Thanks to STAHL’s sophisticated self-tensioning calender belt technology, there are no unsightly calender belt marks. Tears are virtually impossible. For you, this means no downtime. In addition, the two or three rollers run in perfect sync—eliminating the need for a feed mechanism. As a result, no tension is applied to the fabric. This ensures that a round tablecloth stays round and a square one stays square.
STAHL Super Troughs are a truly unique feature in trough technology. Only through the elevated feed area does STAHL’s dimensionally stable trough technology offer you an actual wrap angle of 180° per trough under contact pressure. The use of this technology increases the ironing stroke under pressure by up to 20 %. In addition, STAHL’s steel troughs ensure excellent heat retention and even heat distribution. Unlike, for example, lower-quality heating belts or aluminum molds, STAHL molds remain absolutely dimensionally stable even under extreme temperature fluctuations and maintain the set ironing temperature much longer during ironing without the need for constant reheating. Furthermore, steam-heated STAHL hot calenders feature a split steam distribution system within the machine. This ensures that only the first half of the trough, across the entire working width, receives an increased supply of fresh steam to maintain a constant ironing temperature. All of this promises you maximum performance with optimal energy efficiency and, above all, first-class finish quality.
With STAHL trough calenders, the rollers move up and down, not the heavy troughs. This means that the troughs are not lifted and pressed against the rollers—which would require a constant, enormous amount of energy—but rather, with STAHL multi-roller calenders, the rollers are lowered into the troughs and pressed against them for calendering. For you, this means that with STAHL, you save energy and make cleaning the troughs easier, since the rollers lift far out of the troughs for this purpose.
The electronically controlled, continuously variable three-phase gear motors are mounted directly on the rollers and are controlled via frequency converters. They ensure low-maintenance, loss-free operation of your double-roller or triple-roller machine with a low-stress, smooth start and stop. With the specially developed PTS drive, the power electronics, together with the intelligent control system, regulate the motors’ energy consumption in real time. Thanks to the highly efficient drive technology, your energy consumption is reduced to a minimum. No lubrication and no chains or V-belts ensure minimal maintenance requirements.
STAHL multi-roller machines come equipped with double-walled, fully insulated metal covers. This sturdy cover provides energy-saving thermal insulation and minimizes heat loss. You and your employees will benefit from a comfortable working environment. It can be easily lifted off to clean the troughs or replace the calendering cloth.
The optimal contact pressure and the long pressing stroke of STAHL multi-roller calenders are the key factors behind the first-class finish quality of your textiles. Together with the design principle of the trough calender, these two factors result in an elegant sheen on your calendered linens. That’s why STAHL multi-rollers consistently deliver the best mangling results.
With STAHL multi-roller machines, laundry is fed via non-slip conveyor belts that prevent the laundry from slipping and significantly reduce the need for constant adjustments during loading. This increases your laundry throughput, as you can move on to the next piece of laundry sooner. The belt drive is self-tensioning, and the drive motor is integrated into the electronic control system, ensuring synchronized operation with the selected mangle speed. No tension is applied to the laundry item. This ensures that a round tablecloth remains round and a square one remains square. Optionally, the feed area can be supplemented with a performance-enhancing vacuum system.
As standard, STAHL multi-roller calenders are equipped with an intuitive analog control system that allows, among other things, for stepless adjustment of the calender speed. Optionally, the calender can also be operated via the STAHL FREEpro touch microprocessor control system with a large display. In a calender line with a feeding machine and/or folding machine, the display control system serves as the central control unit. Its design ensures clarity and ease of use. Here, repeatable process sequences can be saved and various values monitored on the display. The STAHL multi-roller mangles are designed to offer you perfect ease of use. The laundry infeed and outfeed are positioned at an ergonomic height so that you and your staff always enjoy mangling with STAHL.
The laundry folding table at the rear of an STAHL trough-type mangle is made of high-quality, veneered wood. This natural material ensures that moisture is absorbed and prevents a film of water from forming, as would happen with a sheet-metal table. In addition, the high-quality wooden table does not get as hot as a sheet-metal table, thereby reducing the risk of burns for you and your employees.
For over 110 years, professionals around the world have relied on the reliability of our laundry machines. Discover our industry solutions.
