The laundry in a STEEL washing machine is influenced not only mechanically but also by changing water pressure during the washing cycle, which increases the efficiency of the ATOLL. You save energy, water, time, and detergent.

This is achieved through a groundbreaking design found exclusively in STAHL washing machines. Unlike conventional models, the round drum does not rotate inside a round outer drum; instead, our outer drum is geometrically optimized. Water pressure increases at the narrowest point, and thanks to the perforations in the drum and the scoop ribs, water floods up onto and through the laundry quickly and with high pressure.

The STAHL drum is suitable for washing all types of textiles—including heavily soiled mop covers or dirt-trapping mats—in a single machine, without leaving coarse dirt in the drum after the wash cycle. In addition, thanks to the perforated drum, a lower spin speed is required to achieve a residual moisture content of approximately 48%.

The STAHL stainless steel washing drum features perforations that run from the inside to the outside with funnel-shaped, gentle radii. This ensures that your laundry is handled very gently, while increasing the desired friction within the laundry and reducing it on the metal. The number and size of the holes are optimized for maximum efficiency. They ensure rapid drainage of the wash water, which is particularly important during the spin cycle to quickly achieve the target residual moisture level of approximately 48 % while minimizing energy consumption. During the spin cycle, the laundry is pressed against the drum perforations. If the drum perforations are too small, more power is required due to a higher spin speed and longer spin time. This leads to higher energy consumption as well as increased wear on the bearings and the spring/shock absorber system.

In addition, thanks to STAHL’s drum perforation, you benefit from the fact that no coarse dirt from mop covers, dirt-trapping mats, kitchen linens, and pet blankets remains in the drum after the wash cycle. Depending on the size of the washing machine, the ATOLL features four to six agitation ribs, which are also perforated. This agitation rib technology ensures greater movement and faster water flow through your laundry, thereby saving you time and energy. Another advantage of our drum is the curvature on the back side. Compared to conventional systems, this reduces the area that does not come into contact with the laundry. This minimizes the amount of unused water, resulting in additional water and energy savings.

In the overflow rinsing process, the detergent with the bound dirt is removed via the deeper overflow by the rotating movement of the drum. You save a complete rinsing cycle and benefit from shorter washing times, as well as reduced water and energy consumption.

Unlike conventional rinsing, the laundry is not flushed through the drain below with the detergent and the dirt bound within it. This increases the degree of cleanliness and reduces wear and tear on your laundry.

Our highly flexible FREEpro touch control system allows you to use the ATOLL in a variety of ways. In addition to 99 freely programmable wash cycles, you can adjust various parameters even while the wash cycle is in progress, including temperature, soak time, water level, spin speed, rinse time, spin time, and spin speed. The standard wash solutions include programs with different temperatures, rinse methods, and spin speeds, as well as single-, double-, and triple-bath processes.
